CHICKEN LASAGNA

WITH CHEESY SOUR CREAM SAUCE

Ingredients

Chicken Lasagna

2 Tbsp Olive oil
1 Large onion, diced
1 clove Garlic, finely chopped
5 Boneless chicken thighs, diced
1 jar Tomato & basil pasta sauce  

Cheese sauce

35g Butter
1 ½ Tbsp Flour
300ml Milk, hot
½ Cup Tasty cheese, grated
¼ Cup Parmesan (plus a little extra for the topping)
½ Cup Sour cream
Garlic & herb salt
½ bag Baby spinach leaves
1 packet Farrah’s Premium White Wraps

Method

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180°C.

  2. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick saucepan and sauté onion, garlic, and diced chicken thighs until browned and partly cooked.

  3. Add pasta sauce and simmer for 8-10 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Set aside.

  4. In a new saucepan, heat butter and stir in flour. Cook 1-2 minutes until sandy in texture, then gradually add hot milk - stirring until smooth and thickened. Simmer for 3-4 minutes then add grated tasty cheese and parmesan. Season with garlic & herb salt. Cool for 5 minutes, then fold in sour cream.

  5. Arrange 2 wraps in the base of an oven proof lasagna dish. Add ½ of the chicken mixture, then a layer of baby spinach leaves. Cover with another 2 wraps, and spread over ½ of the cheesy sauce, another layer of baby spinach leaves, and the remaining chicken mix. Cover with another 2 wraps, and spread over remaining cheese sauce before sprinkling with parmesan cheese.

  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, until golden and bubbling. Allow to cool and settle for at least 10 minutes before serving.

  7. Enjoy!

  • Try adding other vegetables like mushrooms or carrots.
  • Try making this lasagne in a round baking tin so the wraps can be placed in un-trimmed.
